Screen

Dark is easier on the eyes in the aisles under those bulbs. Light is easier at the counter and on paper-heavy work. Both are equally supported.

Sound

Scanning makes a sound so you know the phone saw the label without looking up from the carton. Set the volume here, in the room you will be working in, rather than finding out in the middle of a sweep.

These are the four sounds the sweep makes. Press each one and make sure you can tell them apart from across an aisle.

• A label was read

  The commonest sound by far.

• A piece was recorded

  The one that changes the count.

• A carton was tagged

  A CHECK tag bound to a carton.

• Something was refused

  Stop and read the screen.
